I think it is really basic to determine whether or not people know each other very well in a conversation. You can tell when people know each other because there are no awkward pauses and the conversation flows a lot better. Maybe there might be a hug, too, so there is a physical aspect that lets people know that the two people in the conversation know each other. Also, I feel when you know someone really well there is a lot of smiling and there are not boundaries of personal space. When people don’t really know each other in a conversation the exact opposite occurs. There are awkward silences, physically there are personal spaces between people, and there is not as much eye contact.
