I love the way the author describes relationships. I definitely agree that relationships are in a sense never complete or finished, always open-ended. Relationships are things that you work on and with throughout your lives. People should always be striving to learn more about each other while growing as individuals, and as they do that, the relationship changes as well. As they learn more about each other, the relationship either improves or deteriorates, depending on whether they like what they find out about the each other. I definitely think that it's important for married couples to always feel like there's still more to learn about each other. I think that the moment they stop feeling like there's more to learn about each other, they stop trying as hard to work at the relationship. From then on, it's much more likely that the relationship will deteriorate rather than improve.
