Thinking about the people that I know, I can definitely see a lot of differences in people who are healthy and people who are sick. For one, when someone is sick, their physical bodies are weak, which makes them less energetic and often lethargic-looking. Because of their weak bodies, they tend to be quieter and less sociable, which is completely understandable because they're dealing with pain and discomfort. One specific instance that I can remember in relation to this was when a close relative of mine was sick; she had some back problems which caused her a significant amount of pain. Because of the pain that she was experiencing, all she could do was lay in bed all day; she didn't feel like talking to people very much. As far as my grandparents go, I was never close to them as there is a language barrier, so I can't really say how their social behavior has changed over the years.

I know that age is a factor in one's social behavior because the older an individual gets, the weaker his or her body becomes, which tends to make the individual less socially active; however, I think this is more of an issue of mind over matter. I think that the influence of age is very miniscule, and if the individual wants to still be active, he or she can be healthier at 70 years of age than someone who is 25. I say this because I know a lady who is in her 60s, and she is so incredibly young at heart that she seems as active or possible more active than a 25-year-old. She spends a lot of time with college students as she is a part of the college ministry at my church, and she fits right in because of her high level of energy (she definitely has a lot more wisdom than us college kids though). Her zest for life, especially at her age, is inspiring, proving my point that it doesn't matter how old you are; you decide how you feel about life and how much you enjoy it when you get older.

Yeah, I agree, I have a political aunt who seems to have party and flavor in her blood because even though she is in her early 50s she is always happy active and in a good humor. Her laughter is always so contagious and she says that age doesnt determine how young you are but your heart does.
