The majority of my conversations on an average basis are simply the hellos and goodbyes of people in passing. However I do tend to have deeper conversations with people that I have come to know as good friends, or seem to be in need of someone willing to listen. These stories tend to have a wide range of backgrounds and effects however they all seem to make the storyteller seem to be in some ways the victim or the hero. Whether this is done on purpose or not I'm not sure. These stories open a window into the views of the individual though I'm not skilled in interpreting these views and understanding them to the fullest capacity. They open the view upon one's own relationship with the storyteller and to what level of trust there is between the two individuals. Depending on the purpose of the stories often seem to alter how the individual appears in them, some may make the person look stupid I found that mostly this means the story is of a comedic purpose. Whereas stories of relationships tend to make the person either look more of a victim or hero no matter what. Ultimately the purpose of the story in the mind of the storyteller alters the role in which the storyteller plays within the story itself.
