Relationships in general can be greatly affected by many other things rather than embodiment of sex/gender; there are of course misunderstandings, indirect messages, hostile words, and many other factors that can mess up stability in a relationship. For one thing, there are all the social networks that have made broadened up the range of communication, but at the same time has made its meaning superficial.

The conduct of my relationships, and of others's as well I am sure, has been affected by Facebook in several aspects: to begin with Facebook enables people to present themselves to the world, by posting pictures, statuses, etc, that give away aspects of their personality. HOWEVER, some people have not understood the concept of Facebook: It should not be a medium to express extremely personal stuff. I do not think I can stress that enough. I dislike when people bring up unfortunate situations in a dramatic way, as it makes me think they are seeking for attention, or some sort of recognition... thus my perception about them changes.

I believe Facebook is a great way to stay in communication and up-to-date to what the people I care about are up to; however, it has made me lose touch with my friends, because I feel like I can know what is going on with them by looking at the pictures and statuses, so because I know that they are alright, I do not take the time as often as I should to talk to them and get to hear it from them.

Overall I do think of Facebook as a possitive tool, because it makes long-distance communication so much easier, especially for those who are far away from home and their loved ones. Sometimes it drives me crazy, but I am glad it is there.
