     I think the reason why these contradictions occur around this topic is simply because, in terms of legislation, there is no politician who is found a way to avoid negative impact from either supporting or rejecting these policies. In other words politicians in most cases are too heavily focused on winning votes instead of standing for what they believe in. I have no doubt that once in while someone steps up and does what they say and follows through with their own set of ethics and morals.
