Why do some things have names and others don't? My guess would be because somebody never thought to give it a name. If I started calling the back of my hand a name and convinced everyone that it was what it was called it would slowly start to spread and eventually stick. Or if I were some genius of a person that could just about say anything and create things then perhaps I could give it a name and people would accept it and begin to use it.
