Stereotypically, people who are well should be more energetic and at ease with themselves as well as with others; people who are physically ill may seem somewhat weak, and those who have aged might be more calmed and maybe less energetic. In terms of how that person whether ill, aged, or well sees the social and personal order, and life itself, I believe comes back to the attitude that person has towards whatever he or she is going through. My greatest example is my sister, she developed a certain type of arthritis when she was only 27 years old, and went through some tough times, pain, surgeries, etc, and to this day, I do not recall her one frowning once, I do not have one memory of her complaining. She really toughed it out, at least in front of me. She carried on with her life, and today she still takes her medication, and even with the arthritis, she is a very active person. She has a 3-year old, a full-time job and is a great support for our family. In terms of age, my grandmother is 90 years old, and she is the most enthusiastic, helpful person I have ever met. She has gone through illness as well, but she has never lost her love for life, and despite her age, she is a very lucid person.
Thus, as I have learned from my family, illness and aging should not alter the social behavior or social order that drastically, because I have been taught a positive attitude is most important and will keep you standing even if you fall back.

I agree with you! My brother has gone through times too at his young age. He has had to go through several surgeries and until today, he has never complained. He is an example to me because at times, I tend to complain about little things. I just have to remind myself at times that there are people that have it worse and still have a positive outlook on life.
