Physique, clothes, and material objects are a non-verbal way of communication for people. For example, if someone is wearing all expensive brand name clothes and accessories, then many people would perceive them to be wealthy without even talking or knowing the person. If someone one saw another person wearing basketball shorts, shoes, and shirt they would assume that that person would play basketball or their favorite sport is basketball. If you saw an older woman with a younger man, without saying anything people would say she is a cougar. With no communication between people there can still be communication through how people present themselves.
